If you like a place, keep going back, because nature is forever changing...

Thurday... late afternoon

The Sunday before...  at sunrise

The greatest part about having places nearby that are scenic, is being able to go by the same place at different times and photograph it. Whether is be an hour or days or even months, it will never look the same twice. I once read a sign in Alaska that said "The only constant in nature is change." It is so true! The photos above were taken at the same place. The bottom photo was taken first at sunrise on a Sunday, on an overcast day. Then cane the rain and winds! On Thursday, the leaves covered the ground and the trees were becoming bare. This photo was taken in the late afternoon sun on a clear blue sky day! I hope to capture this scene in the winter with the snow, and the spring with the freshly growing leaves.

My challenge to you is that you find a place that you enjoy and photograph it at different times of day or week, etc! You will be amazed at how it changes a photograph. You will be able to see for yourself what people refer to as magical light of the early morning or late afternoon, and when photographing foliage, it is actually better to photograph on cloudy or even rainy days, because the tree trunks appear darker and the leaves brighter because the bright sun is not washing the color out! The colors are much richer on overcast days. When I get the winter view of this scene, I will share it with you! Enjoy! =)
