Surprise Visitor

Today I went out into nature to celebrate my Mom's birthday. She loved it when I would capture photographs of animals for the first time! Today I saw coyote on a frozen pond that we used to visit often. It was amazing! Mother nature is incredible and to capture it in a photograph, makes the memory last forever.

Winter Escape

Did you ever feel like just getting in the car and driving away? That is what I did today. I drove to Maine to capture their beautiful lighthouses in the snow! I was not disappointed. It was beautiful! First stop was Nubble Light.

Nubble Light (above) Portland Head Lighthouse (below)

Then I headed to Portland Head Lighthouse. My favorite lighthouse to photograph. You can get photographs from so many different angles, and it is never the same. I love going there! Tonight I was the only one there until another photographer showed up from Maryland! It was a beautiful day. Nice to get away every once in a while!

Well, that was my winter escape!

Boston Light

Today was bitter cold but I promised myself I would get out and take some photographs. Everything is pretty much snowed in, These are two different scenes I got of the Boston Light and Graves Light,

The photo above I call Like a Lighthouse in the Clouds! I had to climb a snow pile about 10' or higher! The white you seen in the foreground is the top of the snow pile. I didn't climb all the way to the top, because each step I took was one I would have to climb down! =)

This is Boston Light and Graves Light from Fort Hill in Hull. All I can say about today is BRRR!!! It is so cold!!! The sun was beautiful, and it was a nice day to be in the car! Each day is a day closer to spring! Enjoy!!!

Reminds Me of a Place Where I Would Love to BE!

I went to the beach right up the street from where I live. The snow piles were so high, you couldn't even see the beach! I went to turn around, and the street was flooded! Picture perfect opportunity! I got out of the car and got my camera to a low angle to capture the reflections. The first photo is a mirror reflection. Then a car drove by and created a current in the water! The results reminded me of being in the mountains some where far far away! If I took the pictures standing up I would have gotten smoke stacks and tall buildings! But, me, I prefer the wilderness point of view, it is more soothing to the soul! Hope you enjoy it!

Hawk Attack...

Last night I thought I was doing a great thing by going to the store to get birdseed and bread for the birds. I put it on my back deck this morning. This after noon, one of the birds became dinner for this hawk. I was sitting in my living room when I saw feathers flying all over. Then I found out why.  This is the part of mother nature that I don't like. But I guess this guy had to eat too!

I wrote this a couple of weeks ago, and last night I took a picture of one of my Mom's angels that one of my niece's gave to my Mom for her 75th Birthday! I thought the two together made a perfect fit!
Hope you enjoy it! I am sure your guardian angel wishes the same for you too!!!

You Can Tell What Kind of a Winter it Will Be By the Amount of Fur on a Squirrel's Tale!

Is this an old wives tale??? I think not! Has anyone taken a good look at the squirrels this winter???
This one looks like he wants me to throw food to him so he won't have to go into the snow! =)
Stay Warm! Stay Safe! and Hope for Skinnier Squirrels next winter!!!
